Ken Kovalchik

Safe Travels Global Group Founder Kenneth Kovalchik is a retired Senior Federal Air Marshal that has a combined total of over 33 years in law enforcement. Mr. Kovalchik began his service orientated career while serving in the US Army’s 82nd Airborne Division as a paratrooper in Americas Guard of Honor. After his military service, he entered a career in law enforcement as a patrolman in Northeast Ohio. As Mr. Kovalchik progressed through the ranks he was promoted to Detective Segreant, working general investigative cases as well as a specialized assignment as an undercover Narcotics Investigative Case Officer.


Early in 2002, after the tragic events of September 11, 2001, Mr. Kovalchik then became employed by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Air Marshal Service (FAMS) and was assigned as a Federal Agent working domestic and international counter-terrorism related missions out of the Cleveland, Philadelphia and Detroit Field Offices. Over the course of his twenty-year career with. the FAMS, Mr. Kovalchik had been deployed on over 750 international missions, logging over 5,000,000 air miles while conducting Top Secret (TS) high level security related missions worldwide.


As an International Team Leader (ITL), Mr. Kovalchik’s primary area of responsibility was Europe, Asia and the Middle East. As an addendum to his duties, Kenneth worked with the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force as well as an assignment to the Federal Air Marshal Service Training Division, responsible for all aspects of in-service tactical and firearms training for active-duty mission status Federal Air Marshal’s.


Kenneth has also been assigned to the Department of Homeland Security’s Visual Intermodal Protection Team (VIPR). His duties were to deter and prevent acts of terrorism by conducting operations that promote confidence in and protect out nations transportation systems. Furthermore, Kovalchik held a specialized position as a team leader for the Critical Incident Response Team (Detroit Filed Office).


In 2020, Mr. Kovalchik was laterally assigned to the US. Secret Service’s Presidential Protection Detail (PPD) for the entire U.S Presidential election campaign cycle. Collateral duties with the Secret Service included the Residential Protection Detail and Jump Teams, traveling around the United States as a direct member of the President of the United States (POTUS) security team.


In 2020 Mr. Kovalchik traveled to Tokyo, Japan and was assigned as a team leader to assist in counter terrorism related missions for the 2020 Summer Olympics. 


In 2021 Mr. Kovalchik was again assigned to the U.S. State Department and Department of Defense (DoD) in the capacity of a team leader for Operation Allied Relief (OAR) to conduct the emergency ex-filtration of American citizens & Afghan Allies during the collapse of the Afghanistan Government. The emergency evacuation mission began in Kabul, Afghanistan to Doha Qatar then onto Lilypad safe-haven locations around the world for relocation efforts.


In 2022 Kenneth Kovalchik retired from federal law enforcement . He and his team of retired Federal Air Marshals began the planning operations for an independent business that is now known as Safe Travels Global Group inc. Kenneth has gathered a very diverse and qualified team that will escort groups of high school, college students and adults safely to multiple destinations in Europe and Israel. Mr. Kovalchik holds college degrees in (AS) Human Resource Management. (BS) Business Management and a (MS) Criminal Justice. Kenneth currently maintains a government security clearance at the Top-Secret level.
