Salt and Light, Unlimited Founder John Jones is a retired Senior Federal Air Marshal with a total of 31 years of service. Mr. Jones began his career as a United States Navy Hospital Corpsman (FMF), spending much of his time assigned to the 3rdBattalion, 1st Marines at Camp Pendleton, CA, where Mr. Jones served with the Selective Target Acquisition (STA) team and Raider Company. During this tenure, Mr. Jones engaged in Combat operations in Somalia. Following his military service, Mr. Jones began his law enforcement career with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department in Omaha, NE. This was followed by positions with the Veteran’s Affairs Police and Federal Air Marshal Service (FAMS).

For the duration of his time with FAMS, Mr. Jones was assigned as a Federal Agent working domestic and international counter-terrorism related missions out of the Los Angeles Field Office. Over the course of his fourteen-year career with the FAMS, Mr. Jones has been on countless international missions, logging 4,000,000 air miles while conducting Top Secret (TS) high level security related missions worldwide. During this time Mr. Jones was assigned to the Training Division, where he was responsible for all aspects of in-service tactical, firearms, fighting techniques, and more. But it was his specialty in traumatic medicine that led him to be the division lead instructor of medical training for active-duty mission status Federal Air Marshal’s.

John Jones retired as Senior Federal Air Marshal in 2023. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Jones obtained his insurance license and created Salt and Light, Unlimited.
