John Farabee

Safe Travels Global Group member John Farabee is a Retired Senior Federal Air Marshal that had spent twenty six years as a federal law enforcement officer. Mr. Farabee began his interest in law enforcement with a Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice, graduating from the University of Maryland in 1989.


In April of 1991, he began his service with the United States Secret Service in Washington D.C. during his career, he was assigned to protecting the President of the United States, the Vice President and numerous foreign dignitaries. He was also assigned to the Foreign Mission Division, were he investigated criminal offenses against foreign embassies and chanceries throughout Washington D.C, Maryland and Virginia. During his eleven years with the U.S. Secret Service, he was trained as a counter sniper, motorcade presidential support vehicle driver, counter surveillance tactics, presidential venue security, and self-defense tactics and as a medical first responder during disasters.


After the tragic events on September 11th, 2001, Mr. Farabee was recruited by the Department of Homeland Security, United States Federal Air Marshal Service as a federal agent. He was deployed both, domestically and internationally to assess, address and mitigate various terroristic threats to aviation and passengers worldwide. John holds a United States government security clearance rated Top Secret.


Sixteen years with the Federal Air Marshal Service, he was both an International team leader and team member detailed to over 800 clandestine International missions throughout Europe, Asia and the Middle East.


John was assigned to the Federal Air Marshal, Visual Intermodal Protection team. This detail consisted of working cohesively with other federal law enforcement agencies to deter, detect, protect and investigate terroristic threats to U.S. commerce and transportation infrastructure.


In 2015, he was the federal Law enforcement liaison detailed to Ohio’s Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. His responsibility was to develop working relationships with aviation partners to deter, detect and report suspicious activity within the airport.In 2018, Mr. Farabee retired from the Federal Law Enforcement ending a distinguished 26 year career with many commendations for outstanding service.
